Team
Research is best done in a team.
I am fortunate to have joined forces with a number of exceptional individuals throughout my academic journey.

-

Jan Glaubitz
Assistant Professor
Jan joined the group in 2024. His research focuses on numerical conservation laws, inverse problems, hierarchical Bayesian learning, and uncertainty quantification. Before joining the group, Jan held postdoctoral positions at MIT and Dartmouth College (USA), and earned his PhD from TU Braunschweig (Germany) in 2020. -

Henry Haase
Doctoral student
Henry joined the group in 2025 and is supervised by Jan Glaubitz, with Andrew Winters as a co-supervisor. His research focuses on non-polynomial summation-by-parts operators for numerical conservation laws. Before joining the group, Henry earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at TU Braunschweig in Germany. In his free time, Henry enjoys picking mushrooms. (Henry’s website) -

Andrew Winters
Senior Associate Professor
Andrew joined the group in 2019. His research focuses on high-order numerical methods for hyperbolic conservation laws, specifically discontinuous Galerkin methods for shallow water equations. We are jointly supervising PhD student Henry Haase. (Andrew’s website)

Information for Prospective Students
Prerequisites: Students (Bachelor or Master) interested in joining the group and/or writing a thesis should take one of my courses—this is the best way to get to know me and learn about the group’s research area.
How to apply: If you fulfill the above prerequisites, send me an email with your CV, an unofficial transcript, the term(s) you'd like to do your thesis/research in, and a 1-2 sentence description of what you're hoping to get out of your research experience or thesis.
Information for Prospective PhDs and Postdocs
I am always happy to welcome new PhDs and postdocs. If you are interested in joining the group as a PhD candidate or postdoctoral fellow/associate, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Even when there are currently no funded open positions, I am happy to support applications for various scholarship programs.
